Easier way to do this: eq out your lows, like anything below 200hz or so, and then low shelf to ab 300 just a little bit. Compress to taste and add slight saturation, then add a pitch shifter, pitch the vocal down either 7 or 12 semitones and then set your mix knob around 20-30% (or to taste ig) then add a stereo spreader/doubler and level to wherever it needs to be.

Now just buy auto tune pro for 400$ than apply eq, reverb, delay, add compression, to boost the sound as a whole and tweak your stereo output desire, cut out es' through peak frequency cuts. Now clarify or sound to ensure it sounds as desired.

I always use the mic placement hanging down as shown in your video, apart from helping minimise pops, it also makes the singer point their head up, which opens the throat for a better performance. Also, if you're really having problems with a vocalist popping on plosives, you can tape a thin pencil over the diaphragm which deflects the air.

so the send tracks (both the reverb send and parallel compression send) are going out directly to master bus? what happened if we output them back to the vocal bus? do you do that in some scenario?

I’m rly late here, but rly appreciate the tips, I’m brand new to using pro tools. But I set up all the tracks through the vocal bus the way you had it and it recognized I was recording but wouldn’t play it back. When I changed the output of the recording tracks to just my normal output, it worked again. Any idea of a fix there?

İts Good way.but i want to add that. if you do second channel pre mode, you will get just delay effect without main vocal.

Are use your set up to set up my recording template and it’s good, but now I want to do a proper mix

just had a quick question and was wondering if you had any tips on how to record vocals with low latency monitoring turned on and still hear your inserts I know in the mixing tab of preferences there’s away to still hear your sends I’m running into a issue with delay while recording with effects on and I know to make sure my Hw buffer size is set low I’m using Apollo twin interface and the latest version of pro tools on a MacBook (I’m also having latency even when no plugins are on) When I turn on low latency monitoring the latency stops but then the artist can’t hear their effects while recording Please advise if you can Thank you once again

My setup- Fl studio signature- -$300 Custom high performance pc -$500 Screen Monitors- $150 Speaker monitors- $100 Midi controller - $150 Headphones - $100 Desk- $150 Chair - $100 Keyboard + mouse - $150 Mic - $60 Plugins - $400 Presets and beat packs- $150 I’m currently looking at used drumpads and analog hardware for another $300 Doesn’t sound budget but I built this slowly over 18 months and there are versions of everything I mentioned for half as cheap.
